Hershey's Chocolate World

Our latest adventure took us to Hershey, PA where all our chocolate dreams come true. The air smelled sweet and we were surrounded by candy bars. Pablo got to hold the world's largest Hershey Bar and Monica ate a giant kiss. It was a sweet weekend!

Carmen-Cita-Rita

Pablo and I called her Carmen. Belo and Bela called her Carmencita. The kids called her Cita. And now Carmen calls herself Rita. So when we saw RITA'S ICE CUSTARD HAPPINESS we had to stop!

Cuca in action

Cuca will start her tennis lessons the second week in July. Until then, she has Daddy to teach her a few tricks. Pablo has always loved tennis and even took a few courses at BYU. It's so fun to watch her learn and grow.

Father's Day

Pablo didn't want us to buy him a gift so we got creative and made him an ice cream cake. It's not impressive to look at but it sure was tasty. Two layers of devils food and two layers of cookies-n-cream all covered with whipped cream! (I had a bit of an accident with the whipped cream, a metal spoon, and a blender....but I won't show pictures of that.) Unless you have a walk in freezer to work in, your cake might start to ooze like mine did...literally minutes out of the freezer to apply the second layer and it starts to melt. Anyway, here it is! Pablo just left to fly to Kentucky for work so me and the kids will be eating this for B/L/D for a while.
WE LOVE YOU PABLO!

Washington DC

Old Post Office building, Chinatown, Smithsonian, Spy Museum, Ford Theater, The House where Lincoln Died, Lunch, National Cathedral, Brazilian Embassy, Local House, Lincoln Memorial, Double Deck Bus, Lincoln statue, National Archive Museum, the Capitol... so much too see, so little time!

Washington Memorial

Impressive landmark to honor an impressive leader.

Now that's a sheriff

The kids loved the policeman on a horse, watching over the Smithsonian museums.

Washington DC Temple

When I think of a temple, I think of a place where someone can go to get away from the world. At the Washington DC temple, you can feel this way before you go inside. It seems the trees, flowers, and mother nature all reverence the house of the Lord in a special way.

The Green Maryland

We took this picture on our way to Washington DC. This is the freeway!! Not something you see in Utah. Absolutely beautiful.

Dinner with the Gargano Family!

We had a nice dinner with the Gargano family at Olive Garden in Philadelphia. The food was great, the company was even better! It is so good to have friends. When we left, it was raining hard and we had a parking ticket on our car... it was all worth it.

Pro Cycle Racing

It was Friday evening and Pablo wanted to go somewhere fun with the kids. We decided to drive to a nearby park and walk some of the trails. When we got there, the lot was full and everyone was headed toward the cycling center. So we follow and experienced our first cycle race! The weather was perfect and just enough clouds to block the setting sun from blaring in our eyes. We loved it!
